SkyView Free is a free educational app for the iPhone. This is an app that tells you about the stars in the sky. This would be useful in science classes where you might use astronomy, or specifically an astronomy class. It is very simple to use. You can use it as soon as you start it up. All you have to do is point your phone in the direction of the star or planet that you are interested in and click on the star that is shown on the screen. You can also use the search bar to search for a specific star if you want. It gives you facts and information about the star or planet, as you can see below in the pictures. If you point your phone at a star, and it will tell you what the star's name is, what constellation it is part of, and some information about the constellation. It will also tell you the position of planets as well. You don't even need to see any stars to know where they are. It shows you all the stars on the screen, even if you are inside. There is a help button that tells you how to use the app, but it's pretty straight forward and easy to learn just by clicking on random things that interest you. This app would be used a lot if there is an assignment for students that require research about objects in space. There is an option to share information with other people. You can modify what you see, like stars, planets, or just seeing satellites. There is no way to work with another person. There is no way to import data into this app. It's a really cool app if you enjoy stargazing or you want to try stargazing but don't know anything about it.
